On Friday 8th March, Year 6 enjoyed their visit to the Shakespeare Centre in Stratford where they enjoyed a drama workshop on The Tempest before performing a section of the play in the grounds of Shakespeare’s birthplace. This was followed by a tour of Shakespeare’s house, and his school, where the children enjoyed a typical sixteenth century lesson delivered by a Tudor Master. I think they were very relieved that education is so different today. They were not very impressed with the thought of 6am starts, twelve hour days, six day weeks and ‘Birch Friday’! In summary, it was an amazing day for all and well worth the early start.
