Week commencing 28th October, we enjoyed a history week in school where each class focused on a different monarch throughout English history. Some of the kings and queens included Elizabeth II, Henry VIII, Richard III, Alfred the Great, Queen Victoria and William the Conqueror. On Tuesday 29th October, children enjoyed coming to school dressed in the style of their monarch and participated in lots of different activities to widen their historical knowledge of that period. Activities included:
- Re-enacting a battle between the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings;
- A parliament debate in 1066;
- A Victorian schoolhouse role-play plus many more exciting lessons;
The week will culminate in a history week celebration for parents and carers on Wednesday the 6th November where children will have the opportunity to present what they have been learning.
Keep an eye on the school gallery for further photographs.
