Each year, children in Year 5 and 6 are given the opportunity to take part in a residential visit to Tower Wood Outdoor Education Centre in Windermere.
Tower Wood is set in 12 magnificent acres of lawns and woodland, extending from the beautiful Edwardian house down to the eastern shore of Windermere. The site looks across the Lake to the high fells of the Lake District and has an enviable and easily accessible position.
The centre, which is owned by Lancashire County Council, has over 40 years’ experience of delivering safe, high quality, outdoor adventure experiences for all. With its wonderful facilities, Tower Wood can offer a wide range of land and water based activities.
They offer training in sailing, canoeing, kayaking and power boating plus a wide range of land based courses from rock climbing and mountaineering to caving, mountain biking and much more.
