Greek History Day – Year 5
Class 5 welcomed Tony North from ‘Time Trips’ on Wednesday 28th June, who came into school to run an Ancient Greek Warfare Day. In the morning, they children studied the Battle of Marathon, and made shields and helmets to use in a re-enactment of the battle. In the afternoon, they debated whether to go into battle against the huge Persian army. After deciding that battle was necessary, they took part in a re-enactment of the Battle of Marathon which resulted in Persian defeat.
The Athenians were victorious!
