School Linking Day

On Wednesday, we were delighted to welcome St James’ C E Primary School Haslingden to a celebration day here at Edenfield. The focus was spirituality and the day was filled with wonderful activities to encourage the two classes to work together in harmony. Activities included:

• A welcome worship focused on spirituality
• Making friendship bracelets with a focus on Christian core values and friendship
• Designing and making a collage of all our hearts to demonstrate that God loves us all and we have connected in friendship through the project
• Filling a large cross with different name designs of all the children to demonstrate our faith in God
• Working together to write prayers of thanks that we have met and forged new friendships which we hope to maintain for the future

The children also enjoyed playing various outdoor games on the field and a picnic in the school hall (it was rather cold so the outdoor picnic had to be rearranged). The children worked so brilliantly together, shared a wide range of thought provoking contributions and enjoyed a fantastic day of shared endeavour. It was wonderful to see two school communities flourishing in God’s love.
